"Go Skateboarding Day" June 21st, 2009

I just finished this 16"x 20" poster for "Go Skateboarding Day" - June 21st, 2009.

IASC is the association behind the skater-made holiday that's being celebrated on a yearly basis to help fund special charities and build skate parks and give scholarships to kids all over the world.

Ed Templeton was asked to do last years poster, which was first in the series, and IASC plan on doing more of these posters with skateboarder/artists involved as a collector item each year to come.

I got the privilege to do this years and here's what i came up with...

More info about this world-wide event/day ....

Last year, millions of skateboarders participated in more than 600 events
held
worldwide and 800,000 people logged onto www.goskateboardingday.org. Highlights
from GSD 2007 included numerous events sponsored by IASC members: Alien Workshop, Active
Board Shop in Ohio who hosted an autograph signing session with pro-skaters, a
BBQ and a skate jam; the KCDC Skate Shop and 5Boro in Brooklyn, NY brought together
more than 2,500 people to skate together throughout the day. Element
premiered their new team video at over 350 locations and held a BBQ and skate
jam at their headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Check out how you can get involved or create your own event this year at
